A Unique Design
The two buildings in Park Place are designed by Hariri Pontarini Architects and feature a signature curved design. The towers will swerve inwards to embrace a courtyard on the west. Park Place will portray a contemporary expression to add to the unique and innovative Vaughan skyline. It’s described by Michael Attard, an Associate Partner at Hariri Pontarini Architects, as “simple” and “graceful.”
The bottom of the development is constructed to leave space for retail but in a unique way. The base of both buildings is carved out next to Commerce Street to make space for the retail plaza and link to the new central park. This allows for views to be preserved and maximizes access to light – making this building more sustainable than most!
Moving Towards Sustainability
Yes, it’s true! SmartCentres REIT is moving towards sustainability for a greener future! Sustainability was actually the motivation for the design mentioned above. The towers are wrapped in white bands of fitted glass to make more room for windows to improve window-to-wall ratios. With a passive sustainable design, Park Place creates a beautiful sustainable balance that also considers the residents’ comfort. There will be solar strategies in place to give residents access to a clear view and lots of sunlight through the windows. It’s innovative and sustainable!
In the Heart of the VMC
Park Place is in the centre of all the action at the VMC! Everything you need is a short walk, drive, or bus ride away. Residents will have superb public transportation options thanks to the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Station being an 8-minute walk away. Those who drive will have quick access to Highway 7, 400, and 407. But no need to go far when living at Park Place – all the incredible local amenities are right around the corner.
